let’s start from the very beginning, a very good place to start…

I found a quote that pretty much sums up what it is to remodel a house: “Plans are only good intention unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.”

Funny thing is, we didn’t start this project with a plan (except for the one Jeff scribbled out on a napkin.) And yes, it certainly has proved to be hard work. Not like we aren’t used to it, with the experiences of our previous Los Angeles remodel in our back hip pocket, we knew another remodel with its trials and tribulations was in our future. Lucky for us, we had the money and resources from selling our home in L.A., loads of experience from being taught by THE MAN Jerry on our last house and our friend and realtor Tyler Parish (or as we refer to him as 5 o’clock Charlie because he would call every day at 5 pm to give us an update on the non-progress being made with the bank negotiations) who patiently and diligently helped us find just the right property. You’ll find out more about them later. So here we are, mid-stream but just bring the blog up to speed. But many of you know where we’ve been and what we’ve done so this is mainly a spot to share our future progress and photos. So we’ll be bouncing back and forth from July 1, 2007 when we closed on the pad to now.
